What are the common water meter measurement principles?
I. Mechanical Water Meters (Impeller Type, Screw Type)
When water flows through the water meter, it impacts the impeller (rotor or screw), causing it to rotate. The rotational speed of the impeller is proportional to the water flow velocity. The impeller shaft drives the counting mechanism through linkage components, and the counting mechanism accumulates the number of rotations of the impeller, thereby recording the amount of water passing through the water meter.

II. Volumetric Water Meters
These meters measure the amount of water by measuring the actual volume of water flowing through. The water meter has a fixed volume chamber inside. When water flows into the chamber, it pushes the piston or rotor inside the chamber. Each time the volume chamber is filled and emptied, a certain volume of water is recorded.

III. Ultrasonic Water Meters
These meters utilize the relationship between the speed of ultrasonic waves propagating in water and the water flow velocity for measurement. Ultrasonic transducers at both ends of the water meter transmit and receive ultrasonic signals. When water flows through, the propagation speed of ultrasonic waves is different in the downstream and upstream directions. By measuring this speed difference, the water flow velocity is calculated, and thus the water volume is determined.

IV. Electromagnetic Flow Meters
Based on Faraday's law of electromagnetic induction, when conductive water flows through a magnetic field, an induced electromotive force proportional to the water flow velocity is generated. Electrodes inside the water meter detect the induced electromotive force, and the water flow velocity and water volume are calculated through a signal processing circuit.
